Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This website, kudin.com, is the personal and professional website of Andrew V. Kudin, philosopher and author, and of Kudin & Sons Academic Press. This policy explains what information the site receives from visitors and what is done with it.

In short: the site shows no advertising and does not sell or rent personal information. It uses Google Analytics to count visits, and it receives personal information only when you choose to send it through the contact form or by email.

Information you provide

When you use the contact form, you provide your name, your email address, an optional subject, and your message. The form delivers this information by email to Andrew V. Kudin; it is not stored in the website’s database. The same applies when you write directly to any address at kudin.com.

This information is used only to read and answer your message. It is not added to any mailing list.

To limit automated abuse of the form, the site keeps an anonymized (hashed) record of the sender’s IP address for up to one hour. It is not used to identify you and is deleted automatically.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, kudin.com is delivered by a hosting provider (Hostinger), whose servers automatically record standard technical data for each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting and are not combined with other information to identify visitors.

The site uses Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, to see how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages viewed, the approximate location derived from the IP address, the type of device and browser, and the website that referred the visitor. This information is used only as aggregate statistics; it is not used to identify individual visitors or for advertising. You can prevent this collection by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell one visitor from another. The site sets no other cookies for ordinary visitors; its own cookies are used only to keep the site administrator signed in.

Third-party services

Some features of the site are provided by other companies. Each of them handles information under its own privacy policy.

  • Video. Some pages show videos hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. A YouTube video appears first as a preview image loaded from YouTube’s servers; the player itself loads only when you press play, in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. When a video loads, the video service receives your IP address and may set its own cookies.
  • Newsletter. The newsletter is run by Substack. The Subscribe button opens Substack’s website, and your email address is given to Substack there, not to kudin.com.
  • Bookstore. The store at store.kudin.com is operated on Shopify and has its own privacy policy covering orders and payments.
  • Email. Messages sent to addresses at kudin.com, including contact form messages, are received and stored in Google Workspace.
  • External links. The site links to booksellers such as Amazon and to academic and social profiles. Once you follow a link, the other site’s policy applies.

How information is used and shared

Information you send is used only to respond to you. It is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing. It may be disclosed only when the law requires it.

How long information is kept

Correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed to answer you and to maintain a record of professional correspondence. You may ask for your messages to be deleted at any time.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Residents of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, write to the address below; requests are answered within 30 days.

Children

The site is intended for a general and academic audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
