Today, no one remembers that during the Soviet Union, the topic of organized crime was under a ban. After all, in a country building communism, according to the authorities, there could not be any organized crime.
Before Andrew V. Kudin, no one dared to write on this topic. He was the first.
In 1993, the novel "The Black Suit" was first published in an abridged version (the full version was not allowed by censorship). Despite this, the novel "The Black Suit" was a phenomenal success - 25,000 copies were sold out in a matter of days, and now this edition is a bibliographic rarity.
Many years have passed since then. However, "The Black Suit" is no less attractive than in the early nineties of the last century.
The book is based on actual events. Some of the names in the book are authentic. Most of the characters in the book and their prototypes are no longer alive. There is no censorship, either. This made it possible to publish the book in its full version in its original form with minor author edits in 2023.
"The Black Suit" is a story about love and loneliness against the background of the confrontation between two rival street gangs in the period of severe crisis of Soviet society on the eve of the collapse of the USSR.
The book is interesting from both historical and psychological points of view. The author has devoted many years to studying the psychology of criminals and has a Ph.D. in Law (Research Interests: Criminology) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religious Studies.
