Dr. Andrew V. Kudin was born on August 23, 1965, in Kiev, Ukraine, into a prominent family of educators and intellectuals. His mother, Dr. Galina Andronovna Kirichenko (1923–1998), was a renowned linguist and philologist who held a PhD in Philology and was widely respected for her extensive teaching career and scholarly contributions. His father, Dr. Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Kudin (1925–2018), was an esteemed professor and Doctor of Philosophy, recognized for significant achievements in philosophical research and scholarship. Dr. Vyacheslav Kudin established Ukraine's first Department of Aesthetics at the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, authored over 180 scholarly works, and published Ukraine's first textbook on aesthetics. Andrew proudly continues his family's remarkable legacy, representing a distinguished Ukrainian dynasty of professors. His maternal ancestors included respected Orthodox priests, educators, and military officers, and his paternal lineage included prominent educators and military officers.
From an early age, Andrew was immersed in an atmosphere of intellectual curiosity. His family's extensive private library, containing over 20,000 volumes on philosophy, science, and religion, became his first intellectual playground. Gifted with extraordinary curiosity, Andrew began reading fluently by age four, quickly progressing to independent study of complex philosophical texts.
Alongside his intellectual interests, Dr. Kudin rigorously pursued various physical disciplines, mastering wrestling, boxing, karate, and the Chinese martial art of WU-SHU. His profound interest in mysticism, Eastern philosophy, and ancient spiritual traditions naturally guided him toward the academic study of philosophy. He earned his Master's degree in Philosophy from the prestigious Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1989 and successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Philosophy and Religious Studies at the Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 1995. He also holds a Master's degree in Management (2020) and a PhD in Law (2021).
Dr. Kudin had the privilege of studying under distinguished academics and renowned scholars. Among his mentors were Dr. Vladimir Karlovich Tancher, a distinguished philosopher; Professor Yuri Anatolievich Kalinin, a respected expert in religious studies and Dr. Kudin's dissertation supervisor; and Professor Gennady Michailovich Chaychenko, an authority in the physiology of higher nervous activity. He studied advanced mathematics under the guidance of the renowned Professor Anatoliy Volodymyrovych Skorokhod, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Kudin also acquired profound knowledge of traditional and modern logic under Dr. Anatoliy Evgenievich Konversky, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
